Pope Francis (1936-2025)

In our churches, like many around the world, we mourn the death of Pope Francis on Easter Monday 2025.
His determination to celebrate Easter is an example to us all.
An inspirational, prayerful, humble man of God who will be very sadly missed for his leadership, courage and honesty.
Francis served as Pope from 2013, here is an Obituary
"I prefer a Church which is bruised, hurting, and dirty because it has been out on the streets rather than a Church which is unhealthy from being confined and from clinging to its own security,”
"Our church doors should always be open, so that if someone, moved by the Spirit, comes there looking for God, he or she will not find a closed door."

A prayer for Pope Francis, on a black background with graphics of a cross and a candle.

Father in heaven, we praise your name
for all who have finished
this life loving and trusting you,
for the example of their lives,
the life and grace you gave them
and the peace in which they rest.
We praise you today for your servant Francis
and for all that you did through him.
Meet us in our sadness
and fill our hearts with praise and thanksgiving,
for the sake of our risen Lord, Jesus Christ. May be an image of 1 person and text that says "Jesus, make mv heart more like yours. SEVEN WORD PRAYER TAUGHT TO POPE FRANCIS BY HIS GRANDMOTHER"
