Holy Week and Easter 2021

Experience Easter

Please note that due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation and adherence to the latest government guidelines,  certain services and events may be subject to change

Come and Visit Experience Easter Outside. This year St George’s have created 4 storytelling locations in the churchyard for you to enter into the  Easter story. From Gethsemane  full of prayer, to the courtyard of betrayal then to Gologtha where God keeps His promise and finally to the Garden Tomb where the most incredible surprise awaits, the Easter story unfolds before you. The church mice have also escaped again around the churchyard with Easter chicks too ‘hatching’ from amongst the undergrowth. All ages are welcome to join in the hunt for them. I wonder what you will find when you visit our churchyard and spend some time wondering at God’s greatest everlasting story.

Please note that the churchyard will be ‘busy’ from March 23rd to March 31st during school hours and  the Church will be  closed to the public because  our local schools will be visiting Experience Easter.

All services inside are restricted by the number of people attending because of Covid Restrictions but we are hopeful that all those wanting to come can be accommodated.

At the time of publication,  we are still waiting to see what will be possible for churches to open for services after the 4th April. At present it is felt that we will have an online Benefice Zoom service on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of April and a Holy Communion Service (in St George’s )  and Evensong ( in St Cyr’s) on the 1st and 3rd Sundays. This pattern will continue through May dependent on the Pandemic and the numbers in hospital with Covid. Please keep in touch by phone or via the church emails and we will let you know any changes to this plan as they hopefully unfold.
