CHURCHES TOGETHER FOR ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP

TUESDAY 19th November

7.30 pm

DURSLEY METHODIST CHURCH

Please join us for an evening to discuss the importance of environmental awareness and stewardship and the action that we can take as churches and individuals to care for God’s creation.

Our key note speaker will be Petra van Rijssen who has worked with A Rocha for over 20 years.  A Rocha is an international Christian organisation engaging communities in nature conservation.  It is also the Churches Together charity of the year. Petra be talking about the work of A Rocha and giving some examples of practical, church based projects.

Sally Hall from the Methodist Church and David Nutbrown-Hughs from Dursley Tab will talk about their experience of gaining the eco-church bronze award.

There will also be an input from a representative of the newly formed Dursley CAN, the climate action network about the importance of local partnership and working across the community.

For further information please contact Martin Gregg, Convener of Churches Together in Cam and Dursley District on 07788 421059

To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth

One of the five marks of mission that were adopted by the General Synod of the Church of England in 1996.  Many dioceses and other denominations use them as the basis of action plans and creative mission ideas.
